To search for a specific book or item, patrons are welcome to use the "Books and eBooks" search bar on the library homepage. There, you should see a call number associated with your item, which a library worker would be more than happy to help you with locating.

  • Spiva Library uses the Library of Congress Classification System for most items located in the library including books in our Main Collection on the 2nd floor.
  • Our Popular Fiction section on the 3rd floor of the library is organized alphabetically by author's last name.
  • Government Documents are shelved using the SUDOC (Superintendent of Documents) classification system.
  • Periodicals(journals/magazines/newspapers) are filed in alphabetical order by their title.

For assistance locating items in the library, please stop at a help desk on any floor.
