What do I need to checkout books?
You need a photo ID.
How many books can I check out at one time?
You can have 50 checked out but only 10 are allowed to be checked out per check out.
How many DVDs can I check out?
How do I search for stuff in the library?
The library webpage has the online catalog used for finding all library materials under books and more.
To find materials you need the location and the call number.
Once you have those we can help you find any material!
I need to renew my books?
You can either come into the library and renew your books with your photo id or do so through your online library account.
Can I checkout a room?
Yes! If you are a currently enrolled student or staff/faculty you may check out a study room. All you need is a photo ID.
Can I reserve a room?
Starting in 2016, yes you can! Through the libguides students can reserve study rooms up to 1 week in advance.
Do you have any rooms with computers?
Currently we only have one room with a computer and projector.
What is MOBIUS?
Mobius is a service that allows us to request books from other libraries for FREE! Requested books generally take 3-5 business days to arrive. Checkout period is the same and you can renew books twice!
How do I use MOBIUS?
On the library homepage under books and more there is a link for MOBIUS. The only other information you need is that we are a part of the SWAN cluster and your S#.
How do I pay a fine?
You can pay in cash or check at the circulation desk or with card at the bursar.
Can I send a fax?
Local faxing (Joplin, Duenweg, Webb City and Carl Junction) and 800 numbers are free. Anything else is $1 per page.
If I’m not a current student can I check out books?
You must purchase a card. If you are a local student it is $10; if a community member it is $15. Alumni receive a free card with their alumni account but you must go to the alumni office and activate that account first.
